Tom Hanks' Niece's Tearful Outburst on 'Claim to Fame': Yearns for More Screen Time
Tom Hanks' Relative Faces Emotional Outburst After 'Claim to Fame' Exit: Regrets Lack of Screen Time
In a dramatic turn of events, the second season of the ABC reality show "Claim to Fame" witnessed a notable outburst from Carly Reeves, who happens to be Tom Hanks' niece. Reeves was the first contestant to be eliminated after her connection to the renowned actor was correctly guessed by fellow participant Hugo.

Hugo astutely identified the show's clue wall, where a park bench symbolized Reeves' famous relative, Tom Hanks. Following her elimination, a viral moment unfolded as Reeves broke down in tears and unleashed a torrent of frustration, capturing the attention of social media.
Through sobs, Reeves exclaimed, "These clues are painfully obvious! A bench? Seriously? And a Forrest Gump poster? Are you kidding me?"
The remaining "Claim to Fame" contestants were taken aback by Reeves' meltdown as they witnessed her anguished outburst.
"Why a bench? I mean, seriously, why a bench?" Reeves continued. "There are no other movies that prominently feature benches. Even Gabriel figured that out, and he's not exactly the sharpest. I didn't even get a chance to participate in any challenges."

She further expressed her dismay, stating, "I don't deserve this. I should have received more screen time. I should have stayed longer. Nobody anticipated this, nobody."
After her elimination, Reeves candidly spoke to Entertainment Weekly about her stint on the show, acknowledging that she may have overreacted. She explained, "But I'm a highly emotional and dramatic person. I felt a surge of anger for not being able to play as long as the other contestants. It wasn't directed at anyone in particular, just a general frustration with myself and the fact that I was going home. Then that frustration turned into complete despair and sadness. I even blurted out things like, 'I should get more camera time!' It sounds ridiculous now, but in the moment, those words just spilled out."

Reeves revealed that she had a conversation with her famous uncle, Tom Hanks, who wished her the "best of luck" on the show. Following her elimination, she plans to catch up with Hanks and hopes he eventually watches the episode.
"Part of me wonders if I want him to watch it because I wouldn't want to embarrass him in any way," she confessed. "But I don't think I embarrassed him. So, I'd love for him to see it because it's actually quite amusing... Regardless, he's always supportive. He did ask me, 'Did you make some money?' And I replied, 'Yeah, I made a little.' He said, 'Okay, good.' So, he was happy that I earned something."
